THE CANADIAN BLACK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
This year, The Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce (CBCC) is about to embark on a national initiative that will redefine how Black entrepreneurs get together and stay ahead.
After many months of listening and learning from the Black business community, we are excited to announce the launch of our new CBCC Innovation Hubs!
What are the CBCC Innovation Hubs?
The Hubs, backed by funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), is part of a national effort to establish open-source physical centers and virtual spaces in key Canadian cities by the end of the quarter. Each Hub will serve as an incubator for capacity building and access to resources new and seasoned entrepreneurs can enjoy; information sharing among entrepreneurs, corporations, and venture capital investors; and a diverse network of experts providing technical support with innovative practices.
As our stakeholder needs advance, so does our commitment to building an inclusive space that attracts and uplifts Black-owned or Black-led businesses regardless of region or industry.
locations
The first Hub will open in Ottawa at the Ottawa Black Business Alliance headquarters on January 25, 2024, with a second Hub opening in Montreal at Afromusee on January 26. Additional locations are set to open in the following cities:
- Halifax – Lighthouse Arts Centre (February 15)
- Edmonton – Coming soon
- Vancouver – Coming soon
Part of CBCC’s purpose is to create “economic and trade development for the betterment of the Black diaspora and the Canadian economy,” and our Innovation Hubs will be the cornerstone of driving the Black business renaissance.
